Step Into it! Your timing will align when it is supposed to! When it does….Be ready!

step-into-the-lightHey there! I’m back! Sorry about the long break however, in truth, I needed it.  I would like to take this time to do a quick Blog about Stepping into your dreams, destiny, goals, desires, and talk about timing.

We have all heard the term “Timing is everything!” While this is most definitely a statement of truth, our timing however, will not line up until higher purpose timing is also ready. What does this mean? Be patient, but most importantly, be ready! I once heard this message loosly taken from the late Jim Rohn- Success does not waste itself on the unprepared. Eventually as we take the time to learn, gather resources, grow, and so forth we become more and more prepared for what is about to manifest in our lives. We are much better off continually pressing forward, growing our vision, and when our time arrives we will have gained far more than we have realized. What this means is, do not focus on the idea that it has to be on “OUR” time, try and think more in terms of “UNIVERSAL” time. We have to have faith in knowing that what ever it is we set out to do, either big or small, it will come to fruition when we are ready to receive its rewards. The farmer cannot sell his produce without first tending to his crops. Keep this in mind with whatever, your goals or endevors may be. Tend to the crops, sew the seeds, water and nourish whatever it is you are growing and get ready for the moment when the tree bears it’s fruit. It’s best to have the barrel ready to catch the apples than to have them fall to the ground and rot. Make no mistake, we must continually prepare for the bounty life gives us and embrace the UNIVERSAL moment of it’s delivery!

So, step into it, dream your dreams, set your goals, visualize your desires and get ready!

Stay tuned for my upcoming blogs about my book! Soon to be manifest! XO

Illusion

magic-04Illusion defined is a thing that is or is likely to be wrongly perceived or interpreted by the senses. A deceptive appearance or impression. A false idea or belief. An illusion can make us think we see things a certain way when in fact we are just being derailed by our false ideas which may lead us into missing out on the real meanings of our experiences. In magic illusions leave us in awe as we realize things are not what they seem and we are intrigued by the mystery however, in life we must learn to see behind the illusions that we are influenced by. There is a mask and veil that covers over the real truths to life and in coming to a point of loss or vulnerability it is then we begin to see behind this illusion and it is here we begin to realize that as things strip away, core truths begin to be revealed. Through any kind of loss we are left to look at the bare facts and although these moments can be scary it is through loss that the essential bare bones, bare details, and bare facts can actually be viewed in the purest form and it is here where we can actually begin to find peace within the real truths to life. I once remember listening to the late Wayne Dyer speak of a man who picked out the suit of which he would someday be buried in and he had cut holes in both pockets. When asked why he had done this the man replied “I came into this world with nothing and this is how I will leave.” This is such a strong truth to one of the major illusions I feel we fall prey to in life. We spend our lives collecting, hoarding, filling up our homes, garages, basements, attics, and so forth however, when we come to the end of our days, we take not one thing with us except our soul. Heck, we don’t even take our own bodies with us to the other side. We go on to wherever our spirit takes flight and take with us the memories and experiences of our life’s journey and not one item we have gathered can cross over to the other side with us.

Another type of illusion we fall prey to is the so-called illusion of stability. In life we chace after feelings of stability and falsely believe that not only the things we have collected are stable however, we falsely believe that our homes, jobs, and relationships are stable too. Many of us go through life basing our worth on job titles, financial status, homes, relationships and so forth and we are tricked into thinking that these things are not subject to change, decay, or subject to any form of dismantle. However, in life the real truth revealed is that life is a continuum of change and every second is never the same as the last one before it. All forms of matter are subject to instability. I know these ideas are making some people nervous and probably giving you a negative feeling and this may leave some wondering why I would be trying to point out forms of discomfort by revealing such insecurity however, I promise I will explain and it is here you will find comfort in the face of lifting the veil of illusion. We in fact participate and are living in a world where all things are subject to change and the harder we grasp to believing they are not the more fear filled we may become. I also belive that once we grasp onto the instability aspect it is here we may find more respect for our experiences.

I am speaking of these illusions in efforts to help see past them and in doing this we can learn to grasp onto the true pulse of life, view it in its totality, embrace the changing aspects, respect and participate in it with a higher sense of value, and ultimately learn to clutch more loosely so as not to get too hung up on rigid beliefs that seem real but in fact do not define us; let me explain.

If we are to lift the veil of illusion or to say erase the idea that what we have is who we are, what we own, what we do, and what we appear to be, we would in fact see that we are so much more. When we spend our life defining ourselves based on any of those things, then when they disappear, who are we? Well, that can be answered when we hit the bare bones totality of  our innermost selves. We are heart, spirit, mind, memories, love, flesh and bones. We are alive, breathing, experiencing and we are adaptable and changing. We like a butterfly shed our past self and grow “so-called” wings that take us to the next journey when our time here is up. Nothing comes with us, not one thing and this is why. Things here on earth are fleeting, subject to change, and decay. Things of this life are here for us and are absolutely meant to allow us to experience life in all its senses and glory however, we are to enjoy them, loosely hold them, and let go when the time is right. I want to make clear that I am not suggesting that having nice homes, cars, jobs, and things is bad in fact, it is absolutely not, we all do and should experience all of it as if we are sipping a fine tasty wine. However, my point is this, it is here for us to tap into however, not define us. This is the illusion. We are not our cars, our homes, our credit score. Our lovers do not make us worth it nor does any title we gain through schooling. By all means go for all the things that make a life feel exhilarating, easier, fun, and fill you with ecstasy however, just remember that these things do not and can not make or break you. You are you, bare bones, with or without any title, any job, any car, or any relationship. When you realize this you will adapt when these things fail, change, crumble or simply turn into something different.

Do not fall into the trap of believing the illusion that the things here in life make you who you are, enjoy them, in fact savor them, but remember when we come to the last day and it is time to shed ourselves from this experience it all gets left behind. Make your time here one that enjoys all those things, strives for comfort, reach for dreams and goals and experiences love. Fill your days with visions of success rich with the gift of experience, taste the flavor of all of life’s bounty but remember the essence of who you are is the real magic behind the veil – Live free knowing that what you are inside is unchanging no matter what happens around you.

5 Ways to Transcend Hardships

girl-mountain-top-logo-640x360

We have all gone through some hardships or adversity in one way or another and while some may bounce back more easily, others may remain in a mental space that keeps them from feeling free from what has happened. What I have learned and know to be true in life is that there is an absoulte way to transcend or to say, go beyond the limits, exceed, or surpass things that feel difficult. We are capable of moving beyond what we may be experiencing and possess the ability to find the light within any struggle. Yes it takes an open mind and a wish to overcome however, it can be done. What keeps most people remaining in a mental state of sorrow, lonliness, feeling victimized, lost, broken, let down, and so forth is almost always their perception of these hardships. You see, if you change how you not only view the struggle however, along with it change your perception, you can and absolutly will rise above it. The following are 5 ways to transcend hardships and come out on the other side where light and opportunity reside.

#1: Acceptance

The very first way to begin to rise past any hardship is YES the idea of acceptance. Acceptance of the situation and knowing the reality of whatever is going on is the very first step to making your way past it. The Opposite of acceptance is resistance and with resistance we meet with only more resistance, like a fish swimming up stream, which to me seems very futile. To accept is to take whatever the situation and accept that it is happening however, not in a passive, “bring more on” sense of the word. When we accept what is the exact reality we are experiencing we get to decide what to do next and decide to stay with it or change it. Once we look at where we are, NOT where we were, or where we “think” we will end up, we can take the moment we are in, accept it for what it is and make some decisions on what we want to do with it. Acceptance gives us the control to find resolution versus resistance.

#2: Know that You Have What it takes to get past it

A good way to realize or come to terms with knowing you have what it takes to get past your hardships is to do some self reflecting on the moments of your life when you have risen above or made it through a past storm. When something feels so hard that you may be thinking “I cannot do this. I cannot get out of this rut. I have no way and feel so alone.” you absolutly must try and remember a moment in your life when you made it past something that seemed at the time to be a permanant experience. Reflect back and remember that you got through it. This can be anything from a break-up, loss of a job, an illness, difficult financial time in your life, tough upbringing or something you maybe got yourself into and also got yourself out of. Reflect back and remember that with recognizing our strengths of the past we can re-visit and resurrect the skills and tools we found within to take us once again out from struggle. I only recommend looking backwards in efforts to pull tools of strength back out to the forefront and leave behind any negative memories of the past. The past should only be utilized for the reflection of beautiful memories, lessons and skills that were learned, and remember it is not meant to live in.

#3: Look for the Good Within it

Ooooooooo this is a tough one! How can we look for the good within struggle? I assure you that within struggle resides some form of good. It may not be easy to find it but if we are to search deep within the trying times of our lives we can pull at least one ray of light that came from it. Maybe it lead us to meeting someone very inspiring or special to us, perhaps we can find a hidden strength within ourselves, maybe the good we see and feel can be found in the appreciation of being alive, or in the camaraderie of another going through similar times,  maybe the good within it is the idea that in the grand scheme of life the things we think are important are perhaps not, and this puts real perspective on what truly matters. Maybe we learned we can do better for ourselves than what was done to us and in knowing this we get to embrace better choices. When life hands us a “kick in the pants” it is time to wring it out, flip it inside out, turn it around, and pull even one strand of knowlege or light gained from the experience and when we do this the focus begins to shift and then we are on our way.

#4: Take Action

Action in the sense of the word may be in a physical and or mental sense. Taking action is the best way to begin to pave your way to better ground. This can mean anything from reading about others in similar situations, making a plan, reaching out to another for guidance, changing behaviors, or working on the self in any way, shape, or form. To take action does not mean all action has to be a giant leap or giant step and in most cases action is usually done in small progressive steps. Once we begin to take any form of action we immedialty, instantly begin to change direction. This is where opportunity, hope, and all kinds of things show up. Action leads to progress, and progress leads to fulfillment. In life, one of the best feelings that people love to know is that they are making some form of progress. Progress gives us a sense that we are headed in a different direction and it can provide a feeling of wanting to press forward even more. When we begin to step into what we do want for our lives, what we don’t want begins to take the back burner. Yes it may still be in our lives and yes we may be dealing with the issue however, as we step to either total change, adaptation, or solution, it is there we can begin to feel the burden lift. So take action even if only in the mind and with each step progress will be made.

#5 Keep an Optimal Vision in Your Mind

Sometimes the hardships we encounter are ones that are way out of our control and may involve things that are truly coming up against us however, even in these most difficult times we must look to the most optimal desirable outcome no matter what. This can be hard to do especially in the case if  illness or injury however, if we keep our mind focused on the most optimal end result and keep our minds looking at the “what we have” versus the “what we don’t have” this can truly have an impact on the course of the situation. What ever the hardship is, as in the case of money, loss of love and so forth we must choose to keep a focus on what we want the end result to look like if we are to come through it.  In a world that is proving with countless stories of the laws of attraction “what you focus on persists” this is something to consider. When we focus on the pain, the burden, the what is missing in our lives,  it is all we see. When we focus on the dream, the desired outcome, the wish, the freedom from it and so forth, and we make this our vision, we will meet with success. One day it is then we can look back and say “PHEW”  that was rough,  but I made it!

Persevere! Amy 🙂

To Dream Big We Must Act small

We hear the term “Dream Big” all the time and yes that is most definatly what takes us to ultimately seeing the “big picture” of our aspirations however, to dream big and meet that dream we must act small. You may be thinking “act small? How will this lead to the “big dream?” Let me explain! Sometimes in dreaming big we get lost in the grandiose ideas of how we will get there. In these grandiose ideas we become overwhelmed and all of a sudden we may find ourselves procrastinating and or feeling stuck because our dream or vision may be so large (and this is wonderful) however, this may actually be causing  us the inability to see the small steps within the process that will ultimatly get us there. Having our sights on a grandiose idea or vision for our lives is absolulty necessary to get us to the place we so desire however, we must embrace taking small, tiny action steps along the way that will not only lead us to our destination however, enrich us and allow us to build the process along the way. What happens is this: growth, knowlege, learning new skills, perfect timing, and the manifestation of perhaps even more than we originally set our sights on occurs. The lesson in this for me as follows: I do not need to be a blogger with one million followers right out of the gate with the most phenomenal blogs that blow the minds of all. I can start out small, with limited blog knowledge, with good faith leading me, a sense of adventure and eventully build my way to what is meant for me! Let us choose to take that step towards our dreams however small and enjoy the feelings the journey brings us along the way!

What keeps people stuck!

The core limiting factors I have discovered are some of  the reasons why people stay stuck in behaviors, relationships, jobs etc. Not only do we sometimes  believe it is too late, however,  we may have subconsciously become hung up on the roles that we  have taken and what society has taught us. We go through life with others telling us we need to know who we are and what we want to be when we grow up. We place value on future plans of a marital nature, child bearing pressures, and acceptable retirement amounts and so forth. We subconsciously adopt the idea that we are supposed to have it all figured out, when in fact, we are works in progress. One of the key factors we miss in the process is teaching ourselves and others that it is ok to change and develop or shift gears towards something new. We adopt a deep notion that we are limited and stuck under “one umbrella” however, believing this concept is why I feel so many are unhappy in their careers, relationships and so forth. Life is a fluid process of growth and discovery. Just like the clothes we wear we may outgrow things and desire to reach towards new ideas of self development and experiences. Learning to grasp the idea of re-inventing yourself and the freedom to know it’s not only ok but necessary to thrive is a gift we can give ourselves and others; Best part…..you not only become who you were born to be, however, you get to step outside the box and this is where opportunity shows up. -Amy O’Brien

Hello, I am so happy to announce this is my very first blog post and I am so excited to begin my journey in helping others find the potential that lies within. It is my hopes to inspire others to view life and it’s challenges as a way to press forward and never give up. It is my ultimate goal to assist people in seeing the light within them during times of adversity or darkness, or perhaps to simply inspire others to grasp onto the limitless potential that resides within them.  I have gained valuable insight into finding my inner power during very dark times in my life and have literally tapped into these profound experiences to allow myself the ability to re-invent myself on many levels and at many times.  During those times of adversity, it was then that wisdom and light showed up and carried me through and out to the other side where growth and opportunity were fresh for the picking. It was in these moments my greatest strengths were revealed. You too can tap into the same powers and magic that I have discovered. I am currently in the process of publishing my first book and would love to take you on the journey. Let us inspire each other along the way and all of us together can live free of self doubt and limiting thoughts and behaviors. …Amy ❤
